Grant County, being relatively remote and rural, depends on a list of volunteers who provide service by and through the Sheriff's agency.
Staff Augmentation
Search and Rescue is augmented by the Grant County Air Search Group and the Grand County Snowballers Snowmobile Club to provide wintertime Search and Rescue (SAR) services.
Training
Search and Rescue members are trained and equipped to assist when the needs arise. Reserve Patrol staff, who are also volunteers, assist by serving civil process, taking calls for service, investigating and assisting in full-time patrol staff and search upon the order of the Sheriff.
